Notice details

Engineering work is taking place between Staines and Windsor & Eton Riverside, closing all lines. Background information on the work can be found below. Buses will replace trains between Staines and Windsor & Eton Riverside. This work will continue on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November , and will be extended in scope to include the line between Hounslow and Virginia Water. Background information: Network Rail engineers will be carrying out essential maintenance and renewal work on the railway over 7-days between Staines and Windsor & Eton Riverside. The main pieces of work will be: Renewing all 28 wheel timbers (the large wooden blocks that carry the rails over bridges) on Mustard Hill bridge, between Staines and Wraysbury. Renewing the old wheel timbers will mean that trains can continue to run quickly and safely over the bridge Renewing 30 'long timbers' (that support multiple rails at junctions) in Datchet Refurbishing the switches and crossings (which allow trains to change tracks) at Staines Renewing parts of the track at Feltham Junction, near Feltham These works will help in the delivery of a safer, more reliable railway for passengers.
